Facebook won a trademark case against Chinese food manufacturer
named "Face Book".
It is set judges in the High Court of Beijing via its
official verdict. Face Book should replace the trademark if it is to continue
to operate in China.
Because, Face Book newly registered in 2014, while Facebook
has been around since 2004. While China has blocked Facebook since 2009 until
now, the big name social networking is still popular in the Bamboo Curtain
country.
The judges' verdict is certainly disappointing Face Book.
One of the officials of the company was to get angry. "If our name
illegally, why initially we were allowed to register the name?" he asked,
as reported by.
"If the brand up very influential globally, why Chinese
people cannot access the site?" he added.
Previously, a similar case was also experienced by Apple.
The Cupertino-based vendors clashed with leather case manufacturer from China
named "IPHONE".
In contrast to Facebook, Apple did not win the case.
Therefore, mobile phone Apple iPhone just arrived in China in 2009, while
IPHONE had registered its trademark since 2007.
